What do you do at Cornerstone? Train leaders, make coffee, mentor women, buy coffee, run large group, drink coffee, love people…hopefully over a piece of cake and a cup of coffee!
Hobbies/interests: hanging out with Marcus, going for runs or riding my bike on the trail, quilting, scrapbooking, rooting for the Indianapolis Colts (football), University of Illinois (basketball), and Tony Stewart (NASCAR – ‘cause he’s from near where I grew up), reading, or hanging out with friends just talking.
What is your favorite food: Pepperoni Pizza!
What is your favorite movie: Tough question I am pretty eclectic in my movie watching. I enjoy movies that you have to figure out the plot twists, movies that are moving, movies that make me laugh, movies that make me think, movies that make me cry, and everything in between and beyond these!
What is your favorite book(s): Again my reading is eclectic, but I would have to say I am drawn to mysteries and books about friendships.
What is your favorite TV show: I must admit I am a crime shows junkie, but beyond that I love The Office & Survivor.
Favorite Cornerstone moment: When I take just a brief moment during Large Group (usually once Mike starts speaking, sorry MikeL) to walk over to count the kids who came to Large Group with their parents and are getting to play with each other for a little while. I peek in through the window and see the kids playing happily with each other and the adults acting corny and crazy like we adults only do when we think no one else will see us or when we’re with kids. It lifts my heart after a number of hours of preparation and oversight of Large Group to just see the kids having fun. It reminds me that I need to live like that more often, letting go of the worries I can tend to burden myself with and just enjoying the day God has given me and good friends.
