Hey everyone, the site’s been quiet lately which sorta stinks, considering what a great start we’ve got to the Fall semester!
I’ve added a new page to the sidebar: Cornerstone’s Calendar. Now you can see what’s going on with our church in a way that’s subscribe-able. Gotta love Google.

We are deeply grieved over the tragedy at Virginia Tech. Our brothers and sisters at New Life Christian Church are working hard to comfort, console and care for the campus. NLCF is one of the largest churches within our movement with about 1,000 students involved. It might be that one of their members was killed or injured. GCM is doing what we can to stay involved. Pastor Jim Pace shared that the best we can do is PRAY! As you can guess the entire community is shocked.
Needs that they expressed at this time may be financial as the church helps to provide counselors and possibly memorials. Read the rest of this entry »

Tonight the Chicago Bears will take on the New York Giants in what will likely be a memorable matchup. Not only are the Bears coming off of their first loss and the Giants are hot with a 5-game winning streak, but the lovely ladies of Cornerstone have decided to bless the men of our church by putting on a party for us.
The game will be watched at 205 North Linden St. (aka “The Testosterhome”). Festivities (which include bratwurst, burgers, and lots of side dishes) begin at 6pm and kickoff is at 7:15. If you’re a man involved in Cornerstone, please come over and join us.
Update! The Bears won with a stunning second half, 38-20 and the brats were great! Thanks ladies!

As you may know, Cornerstone enjoyed its Fall Retreat last weekend. David Megill, our guest speaker from New Mexico, keeps a blog and has posted a great thank you to both our church and our beloved sister, Illini Life.
Here’s a snippet from his post to whet your appetite:
Thank you to the Students who shared their tears and hesitantly moved towards truths they had never yet shared. Thank you for accepting my small, possibly ignorant, but sincerely caring, attempts to provide some perspective to help you begin to make the journey toward healing.
We’re going to be posting some student stories as soon as they come in. If you wanna tell your story, contact your home group leader.

Hey everybody, this is Josh Peters here. I’m working on the re-revamped website for Cornerstone Christian Fellowship. We’re going to run things as a blog and hopefully we’ll be getting more and more leaders of Cornerstone contributing to this site to make it an interesting and useful tool for our community.
Below you’ll find a list of things that I want to consider using this site for:
- General information re: Cornerstone, its activities, and teachings.
- Weekly updates from the Home Group leadership about what their home group is doing.
- Posts from our pastors communicating their heart for the church, what they’re learning, etc.
- A student’s column where we can ask someone to write about their lives here ala the “Slice of Life”
So whaddya think? Are these good ideas, bad ideas, implementable or not? We really want this site to be of, by, and for Cornerstone members. What are you looking for?
