Fall Retreat

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

As you may know, Cornerstone enjoyed its Fall Retreat last weekend.  David Megill, our guest speaker from New Mexico, keeps a blog and has posted a great thank you to both our church and our beloved sister, Illini Life.

Here’s a snippet from his post to whet your appetite:

Thank you to the Students who shared their tears and hesitantly moved towards truths they had never yet shared. Thank you for accepting my small, possibly ignorant, but sincerely caring, attempts to provide some perspective to help you begin to make the journey toward healing.

We’re going to be posting some student stories as soon as they come in.  If you wanna tell your story, contact your home group leader.

Getting Back Online

Monday, September 18th, 2006

Hey everybody, this is Josh Peters here. I’m working on the re-revamped website for Cornerstone Christian Fellowship. We’re going to run things as a blog and hopefully we’ll be getting more and more leaders of Cornerstone contributing to this site to make it an interesting and useful tool for our community.

Below you’ll find a list of things that I want to consider using this site for:

  1. General information re: Cornerstone, its activities, and teachings.
  2. Weekly updates from the Home Group leadership about what their home group is doing.
  3. Posts from our pastors communicating their heart for the church, what they’re learning, etc.
  4. A student’s column where we can ask someone to write about their lives here ala the “Slice of Life”

So whaddya think? Are these good ideas, bad ideas, implementable or not? We really want this site to be of, by, and for Cornerstone members. What are you looking for?
